Symbolism & Story 

Pieces was inspired by the story of a child who survived unimaginable harm and was given the chance to rebuild her life. The composition draws from the idea of a patchwork quilt — fragments of experience, memory and emotion woven together to create something strong, unified and whole.

The movement from darker tones into light reflects a journey from fear toward safety and joy. The fine yellow threads symbolise healing — the careful, deliberate act of stitching life back together, binding every chapter into the fabric of a soul that refuses to be defined by its wounds.

Sewing is central to this piece, representing not only restoration but purpose: a dream realised, a life reclaimed, and the ability to inspire others through compassion and resilience.
