Deb is a powerful force.  This painting is a symbol of her strength, her unwavering decision to have faith in herself, trust herself and rise to any challenge presented to her.  The decision to embody the cliff as one of the key components of this piece represents not just her past, but that Deb is a woman who faces fears head on, does not hesitate, and creates from that place of uncertainty.  I was so moved by her story of climbing back up the cliff after she was pushed off, this one act is a testament to her determination to not give up.  To be the leader in her own life, which in turn inspires others.  The musical notes are front and center in this piece as music has been the safe place for Deb her whole life.  It heals her, calms her, motivates her.  Reconnects her.  The musical scale is the scale from her favourite song 'Deep in the Motherload' by Genesis. This painting provides a symbol of her personal journey and a universal call for women to rise.  This is her legacy.
