The Soldier was inspired by the story of Jason (name changed), whose journey reflects the grit and resilience of the human spirit. What stands out is not what he endured, but how he chose to return to life with intention and calm.

The forest landscape draws from Springbrook National Park — a place of grounding, solitude and renewal. The fifteen tree trunks represent years of holding pain in silence, while the gradual emergence of colour reflects the slow return of optimism and emotional clarity.

The blue sky carries lightness and peace, symbolising moments of happiness rediscovered. Together, the elements form a landscape not of battle — but of recovery, balance and earned serenity.

Jason’s story becomes a mirror for anyone who has carried something heavy, quietly — and found their way back to themselves.
