Symbolism & Story 

I Will Rise was inspired by the life of Johnny Cohen, whose journey reflects unwavering resolve, deep loyalty and the pursuit of peace through purpose.

The bars along the left edge symbolise limitation — structures that could not contain him. The Thai word for freedom speaks not only to release from confinement, but to liberation of identity. Leopard markings challenge the idea that people cannot change — asserting instead that growth is a decision, not a contradiction.

Black anchors the piece with authority and confidence. Brown grounds it — reinforcing stability, protection and independence earned through experience.

Johnny’s story becomes a mirror for anyone who has rebuilt their life through discipline, courage and self-belief — and chosen to leave a legacy defined by intention, not circumstance.
